Our Passion

Many students are generations away from the land and understanding the value of agriculture. It is my passion to work with Educators and our Partners to share the agriculture story from the farm to our table. The Board of Directors and staff of the BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation are committed to build awareness about BC agriculture through programs, projects and resources. Thanks to Farmers, Growers and Ranchers we can bring the bounty of BC to the classroom. We are excited to cultivate and grow the work of this remarkable BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation.

Featured Program

The BC School Fruit and Vegetable Nutritional Program +Milk delivers BC grown fruits and vegetables (and milk for K-5 students) to over 90% of K-12 pubic and First Nation Schools in BC. That’s over 8.5 million servings during 12 weeks of the school year. The program is successful in increasing exposure, acceptability and willingness to try BC fruits, vegetables and milk. The Fresh to You Fundraiser compliments those programs offering schools the opportunity to sell bundles of fresh BC food products as a fundraiser each fall. We are on the way to healthier eating habits, understanding about BC fruits, vegetables and milk as well as the farms they come from! The program is possible through funding from the Ministry of Health, First Nations Health Authority and BC Dairy Association as well as contributions from BC Farmers, the Overwaitea Food Group, Saputo home delivery, multiple independent grocers and volunteers.
